"And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship,
and in breaking of bread, and in prayers."
Acts 2:42

Who We Are

We are a Bible-believing, Pentecostal church - a family of believers. Our lives have been transformed by the power of the name of Jesus Christ and by His Spirit. We hope that you will join us as we seek to experience God's power and become more like Him.

Apostolic Gospel Church of Harris was founded in 1977 by Pastor Clifford Thoen and his wife, Naomi. Since then, AGC has been a beacon of salvation, freedom, and deliverance to the Greater East Central Minnesota region.

Pastor Alan Hosch and his wife, Rachel, and their sons, Zachary, Nicholas, and Nate  faithfully served the congregation and community from 2009 to 2024.  Pastor Alan led our church on a journey of spiritual growth throughout his pastorate with in-depth and inspired teaching and preaching from God's Word.

We are now searching for our next pastor.

AGC is situated in the heart of a growing Chisago County just north of the Twin Cities metro region.  Licensed ministers with the UPCI may forward resumes (with cover letter attached) to agospelharris@gmail.com.

What
We Believe

We affirm and teach the doctrines of the Bible. Which is the infallible Word of God.

Salvation is granted to all who will receive, by faith, the saving power of Jesus Christ's name, blood, and Spirit. Everyone who believes in Jesus Christ is given the opportunity, through the unmerited favor of God, to receive the gifts of salvation. These gifts are:

     - repentance from sin unto life (Acts 11:18; Romans 2:4; 2 Corinthians 7:9, 10)
     - remission of sins through water baptism in Jesus' name (Luke 24:47; Acts 2:38, Acts         22:16; Romans 6:1-8; Galatians 3:27)
     - and the baptism of the Holy Ghost, speaking with tongues by the power of the Spirit
       (John 7:37-39; John 14:16-26; Acts 2:1-4; 38, 39; Romans 8:11).

When salvation is granted through the New Birth into Jesus Christ, we are separated from the spirit of the world by the holiness of Jesus Christ (Romans 1:3-5; 6:19; 2 Corinthians 7:1; Ephesians 4:24). Living a life of holiness means walking in the sanctification of Jesus Christ. This is manifested in our lives by living and walking in His Spirit (John 6:63; Romans 8:4, 5; Galatians 5:25).

What We Offer

Apostolic Gospel Church of Harris is an active congregation that desires to experience God's presence while meeting the needs of our community and members. We strive to do this through our focus on prayer and the diligent study of the Word of God.

- Our Sunday morning services are focused on worship and the Word. Through anointed singing and music, we connect with the presence of God. Through anointed and dynamic preaching, we discover His plan for our lives. We desire that all who attend our services would feel the presence of God in a new and refreshing way.

 - Sunday morning Sunday school is fun! In Sunday School, children can grow in their knowledge of God in an engaging environment. Classes are offered for ages 12 and under. Our Children's Ministry also includes an annual children's outing, Junior Youth Camp, and Children's Sunday.

 - Our Student Ministry Group, besides weekly Bible studies, has monthly and annual activities. These include Senior Youth Camp, Minnesota Youth Convention, various youth retreats, and North American Youth Congress. We believe that ministry is for all ages. Our Student Ministry Group is an active part of our congregation.

 - We offer weekly Bible studies on Wednesday nights. These sessions for youth and adults are in-depth times of teaching the principles of the Bible.

 - Once a month, our Home Bible Groups meet in small group settings. These groups currently meet in Sunrise, Harris, and North Branch.

 - Sunday evening Breakthrough Prayer is a guided prayer service in which we pray in unity for the needs of our region, our country, and our world. We have experienced many miracles as God has heard and answered our prayers!

 - Fellowship! It's a necessity! Our church has monthly and annual social events. These include:

     Family Game Night
     All Nations Sunday
     Easter Sunday Dinner
